  • Dr. Aline Tanielian is a Partner at Eptalex Law Firm and heads its Arbitration practice with over 25 years of legal experience across the Middle East. She is regularly involved in complex cross-border proceedings and arbitration proceedings in commercial, civil, construction and intellectual property cases, both as counsel and arbitrator, notably before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Beirut Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Dubai International Arbitration Center (DIAC).

    She has extensive experience in company and commercial law, in addition to banking and finance laws, coupled with her academic responsibilities of lecturer of commercial law at the Faculty of Law of Université Saint-Joseph (Beirut).

    She is on the panel of arbitrators of numerous international and regional arbitral institutions such as the ICC, BCCI, Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), DIAC, CRCICA (Cairo) and the Vienna International Arbitration Center. She is also a member of Arbitral Women and its recently appointed country representative in Lebanon.

    She is active in the legal society and has been part of a great number of arbitration conferences organized by the ICC, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Beirut Bar Association.

    Notable appearances as speaker include conferences organized by the ICC in July 2017 in Beirut, and the ICC- Union of Arab Banks joint conference held in Paris “The Use of Arbitration and ADR in International Banking and Trade Sectors” in 2023.

    She is a regular contributor to literary outlets including Le Commerce du Levant, Legal Agenda and specialized academic journals such as the ICC Bulletin and The American Review of International Arbitration of Columbia Law School.

    She was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 2007.
