We are thrilled to announce that Bachir Nawar has joined Eptalex as a Partner and Head of our ADGM office. With over 20 years of experience in the UAE and internationally, Bachir brings a wealth of expertise to the firm, having served in both in-house and private practice roles. His most recent position was as the Chief Legal Officer of a publicly listed asset management firm in the UAE.
Bachir’s vast experience spans mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, distressed situations, restructuring, compliance, governance, and litigation management. He has successfully advised across a variety of asset classes, including technology, real estate, financial services, and commodities, while collaborating with regulators across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Europe.
At Eptalex, Bachir will focus on assisting technology start-ups, guiding them through legal and regulatory challenges while securing funding, protecting intellectual property, and ensuring compliance with local and international laws. He has been instrumental in setting up incubators and supporting the growth of innovative businesses.
Bachir has also been a leader in shareholder activism within the GCC, helping establish the region’s first ADGM open-ended shareholder activist fund and leading impactful campaigns across the GCC and Asia.
His experience also extends to handling complex multi-jurisdictional litigations, forensics, white-collar litigation, and managing reputational risks for listed entities. With a strong background in compliance and governance, Bachir has advised on governance policies and corporate disclosures, significantly influencing markets and ensuring the protection of issuers’ reputations.
We are excited to have Bachir onboard as we continue to expand our footprint and further enhance our service offering in ADGM and beyond.
