Experience

Ramy is the Global Chairman of Eptalex and drives the Firm’s overall strategy. He represents Eptalex with clients around the world, key partners, business leaders and groups; and has played a pivotal role in the Firm’s program of rapid internationalization.

As the Managing Partner of the Beirut office and a Senior Partner of the UAE offices, Ramy heads the corporate departments and oversees a sizable and diverse team, and advises financial institutions, holding companies and both national and international businesses across various sectors. With more than 20 years for experience, he has negotiated and been involved in some of the biggest local and international acquisitions and reorganizations, and his practice encompasses a broad array of corporate tax issues, joint ventures, and cross border projects. His business clients are spread across industries such as banking, technology, credit card companies and payment gateways, infrastructure contractors, dealerships, construction, building equipment and supplies, energy, waste management, manufacturing, hospitality, and F&B.

Ramy serves as independent board member for a bank, multiple holding companies and various businesses. Some of his other leadership positions include chairing the Young Presidents Organization chapter of YPO Mena One; board membership at GBL Alliance (Global Business Lawyers), cofounding and board membership at the Lebanese Association of PPP, membership of the Oil & Gas Committee and Information Technology Committee of the Beirut Bar Association.

Ramy has been regularly lecturing on various topics, including financial law and project finance courses for LLM students at Saint Joseph University in Dubai; Financial Regulations in the UAE, Free zones in the UAE and Mergers & Acquisitions as part of a CLPD training with the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department; and various topics as part of entrepreneurs incubation programs or global conferences including entrepreneurship and governance, energy regulations, Sharia compliant investments, ADR, etc.

He has further contributed to several publications on topics like mergers and acquisitions, securities, hedge funds, corporate governance, energy, information technology and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has also given lectures and trainings on subjects such as business registration and protection, Sharia compliant projects (Islamic finance), taxes, ADR, and Corporate Social Responsibility in Lebanon, the Gulf and Europe.

Ramy is a member of the Beirut Bar Association, of the Dubai Legal Affairs Department, and of the International Bar Association.
